Itinerary: Olbia - Tempio Pausonia - Quartu S.Elena - Olbia.

DAY 1 - OLBIA
Arrive at OLBIA airport and drive to the hotel in TEMPIO PAUSONIA  

DAY 2 - TEMPIO PAUSONIA  
After breakfast leave the hotel for Palau and take a boat trip through the Archipelago of La Maddalena. Visit Madalena and see it’s historical centre and enjoy some shopping.   Next visit the island of Santa Maria where you can visit the Punta Filetto lighthouse, sunbathe on the beach or have a swim.   Visit the famous Rose Beach of Budelli before sailing along the coast reaching Cala Corsara. On the way back you’ll pass by Punta Sardegna, Porto Rafael and Capo d’Orso. In the afternoon return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

DAY 3 - TEMPIO PAUSONIA  
After breakfast day spent in Alghero, a beautiful town with a prestigious Catalan past most noticeable in the town’s architecture; from the thick cobbled streets to the fortifications which follow the coastline.  Another example can be found in the Piazza Civica (square) shaped like a funnel.   In the square D’Albis and De Ferrera palaces and the ancient cathedral of Santa Maria are held.   In the afternoon visit Neptune’s Grotto.   This marine cave is carved into a spectacular sheer cliff and contains many stalagmites and stalactites.   Inside the cave there is a salt water late which is 120 metres long and has splendid limestone columns rising out of the water. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

DAY 4 - QUARTU S.ELENA
After breakfast travel to Oristano, a town situated in the heart of the great plain of Campidano.  Whilst in the town you can visit numerous sites such as Oristano Cathedral, Church of Santa Chiara and San Francesco, Tower of Mariano II and the Antiquarium Museum of Palazzo Parpaglia.  Located in Via Parpaglia is Eleonara D’Arborea’s house as well as the citys oldest and most traditional inn.  In the house you will have the opportunity to taste the delicious Vernaccia wine.   Afterwards you can visit the archeological site of Tharros. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

DAY 5 - QUARTU S.ELENA
After breakfast depart for Cagliari, capital city of the Sardinia region.   Among the ancient walls some real gems are hidden:   Portal of Santa Cristina, tower of Santa Pancrazio, Tower of the Elephant and the Piazza Palazzo which holds the beautiful cathedral of Santa Maria and the Palace of the Prefect.   Enjoy lunch on Via Roma in one of the numerous restaurants.  In the afternoon visit Nora, an archaeological site located 30 minutes outside of the city.   Nora was an important resting point for Phoenician navigators in the 9th century. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

DAY 6 - QUARTU S.ELENA
After breakfast leaving the hotel and crossing a large section of the fertile plain of Campidano you will reach Villamar a small village popular with visitors for it’s murals.   The tour continues towards Barumini where you will visit the famous nuragic archaeological complex of Su Nuraxi. The complex has a main tower and four small ones connected to each other by a wall which also forms part of a courtyard.  The entire complex is protected by another wall and seven towers.   Surrounding the Nuraghe, is the village with its circular, elliptic-shaped huts.   In the afternoon visit Giara di Gesturi, known for its small wild horses with almond eyes.  There are about 600 of these horses which have probably originated from the Far East.   Adapted on the tablelands long ago they live in small herd containing a dominant male and from 4 to 12 females and their respective colts.   February is breeding season and it is common to see male horses fighting for control of new females to increase their harems and give them power. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.  Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

DAY 7 - QUARTU S.ELENA
After breakfast follow the Orientale Sarda road North reaching Arbatax, known for its porphyry rocks named Rocce Rosse (red rocks).   You can also visit the Grotto Del Blue Marino, located near Dorgali and can be reached by boat from Cala Gonone.   The cave is named after the rare Mediterranean monk seal which nowadays can only be seen on the Sardinian Coast.   Approximately 1km of the grotto is open to tourists, the unearthly reflections of the stalactites in the grottos pools are an unforgettable sight. Dinner and overnight in  hotel. Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

DAY 8 - TEMPIO PAUSONIA - OLBIA
After Breakfast drive to Olbia airport. Meals: Breakfast
